Manly Holiday activities

Manly is packed full of great things to do for all aged, all year round. Whether you are after a relaxing break or an action packed adventure on your Manly holiday, You’ve come to the right place! We have compiled our favourite things to do around manly, catering for the little ones all the way to the young at hearts.

Manly beach has been known for its waves since we can remember. With a selection of beaches to choose from, there is something for everyone. the more advanced surfers might choose to head out to fairy bower, a right hand point break not for the faint hearted. Or if you are jumping on a board for the first time we recommend Manly surf school, operated out of North Steyne surf club, these guys and gals will have you shredding in no time.

Manly locals are spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic walks. Some of our personal favourites include north head, boasting endless walks ranging in length and difficulty, 2 must sees are the track leading down to shelly beach, and the view of Sydney harbour from viewing point at the end of the head. Another famous walk locals love is the Manly to spit scenic walk. Starting off in Manly, winding along the Sydney harbour coast, turning into middle harbour and finishing at the beautiful Spit bridge, this walk is packed on weekends an loved by all. The walk takes around 3 hours and is moderate to difficult. check out the Manly council website for more info.

Paddle boarding

Something that anyone can try. the easiest and cheapest way to get out on the water and explore the coves of the harbour, or admire the stunning houses that grace Manly cove. The team at Manly kayak centre  can sort you out with a everything you need to get going. they also hire kayaks, boats, and even do paddle board yoga! book early though because this is one of Manly’s most popular activities.

Manly is perfect for a bike ride, most of the town is flat, and if you are feeling a little adventurous you can even tackle North head. Manly bike tours are the go to guys. they can help with different styes of bike for hire, including children’s and baby carriages, while your there grab a map of a self guided tour and head off on 2 wheels. the nike path from Manly to Shelly beach is a must see, with crystal clear waters, cafe’s along the way, and stunning view of Manly and its surroundings.

You can find us on any weekend with our heads underwater in cabbage tree bay. one of Sydney’s best rated snorkelling/diving locations, its a secret kept quiet by the locals. Head off from Shelly beach and expect to see an array of marine life including  a huge amount of beautiful fish, cuttle fish, stingrays, if your’e lucky enough you may even spot our resident dusky whaler sharks (harmless i might add). Having a spot like this so close to the city makes this marine reserve priceless.

There are plenty of choices to keep those little adventurers happy. check out the Manly aquarium for a child friendly world of underwater fun, or Studio make  for arts and crafts fun. If this isn’t your kids style, maybe Manly skater HQ would suit. Here you can hire everything from skateboards, scooters to rollerblades. with the bike path running along the entire beach, this is a great thing to do with your kids on a beautiful summers day.
